If you are external to the University of Ottawa\, Faculty of Medicine and are interested in this program\, please contact cpd@uottawa.ca. \n \nCourse Description:\nEssentials for Academic Leadership is a series of 5 workshops aimed at providing clinicians and non-clinicians with tools to successfully lead and manage teams. \nParticipants will develop an understanding and skills of how to:\nLead a process rather than manage it\nManage various types of team members effectively and deal with conflict\nGet the most out of team members and keep them motivated\nIntroduce and manage change \nParticipants will also be apprised of legal implications and emerging trends as it relates to managing team members. Completion of the program will be acknowledged by a certificate in leadership from the Office of Continuing Professional Development. \nRegistration Details\nEarly bird rate ends July 19\, 2024 – register early and save 80% (course valued at $3\,000)! This session will help PCP’s support their patients\, regardless of where they present on the spectrum of substance use\, suicidal ideations\, and post suicide support for loved ones.   \nOther Webinars in This Series – Register for all 3 webinars and save\, single session registration also available. \nRegional Harm Reduction Programs and Services – Including Drug Checking and Mobile Services\nOctober 30\, 2024 | 12:00 – 13:00\nThis session focuses on no cost fixed\, mobile and virtual Harm Reduction programs\, services and resources\, including Ottawa based available drug checking services through community partners and OPH. Participants will learn about how and where to refer their patients who use substances to life saving services.  \nAdvancing sexual health services through technology and innovation – GetaKit\, Sex it Smart and more!\nNovember 6\, 2024 | 12:00 – 13:00\nThis session focuses on providing comprehensive sexual health services in primary care. Information on client self-collected gonorrhea and chlamydia testing and lab-based testing for HIV\, syphilis\, hepatitis C will be covered. Discussion of HIV testing options through anonymous or client collected self-tests. Information on how to receive no cost STBBI treatment options at your clinics. In addition\, we will discuss the OPH sexual health programs available – STBBI testing; low cost/no cost contraception and free condoms – with services provided in a fixed setting\, mobile outreach\, mailout and more.       \nACCREDITATION\nThis one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development for up to 3.0 Mainpro+ credits (1 credit per webinar).
