The University of Ottawa, Division of Orthopaedics is proud to offer the 15th Symposium on Joint Preserving and Minimally Invasive Surgery of the Hip to be held June 5-7, 2025 in historical Québec City, Canada. We have developed a 2 1⁄2 days symposium dedicated to a scientific and practice oriented discussion of current topics and controversies in treating the young adult with hip pain. The 2025 program will cover varying topics, including hip arthroscopy, femoro-acetabular impingement (FAI) / dysplasia, hip resurfacing, less invasive hip replacement surgery, as well as expert panels to discuss controversies of out patient joint replacement, dual mobility, resurfacing and large ceramic heads.

Overall Learning Objectives 
By the end of this program, participants will be able to: 

• Explain Differential Diagnosis and essential imaging of the painful pre-arthritic hip
• Discuss current indications and results of osteotomies about the hip
• Formulate a treatment algorithm for labral tears
• Discuss the principles of hip arthroscopy
• Explain techniques of labral repair as well as capsular management
• Explain indications for new surgical approaches as well as their impact on rapid recovery programs
• Explain investigation of the painful metal on metal total hip
• Recognize the clinical indications for various implant designs for both primary and revision hip surgery.

Accreditation 
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 17.25 hours (credits are automatically calculated).

Through an agreement between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert Royal College MOC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
